My name is Turpo, and I'm an immigrant from Hong Kong who moved to Canada many years ago. I retired from the clothing industry since 2007, and since then, I've been pursuing my passion for oil painting.

I've loved drawing and painting since I was a child, and in retirement, I've been able to devote more time to this beloved hobby. I've joined Markham Group of Artists since 2011 and have displayed my masterpieces at community art shows, receiving recognition and praise for my work. Although I haven't yet sold my paintings, I'm excited to find opportunities to do so in the future.

My love for painting has only grown stronger in retirement, and I spend countless hours in my studio, creating works of art inspired by my travels and the world around me. I've traveled extensively throughout Canada, the Mediterranean region and Asia, including Hong Kong, where I was born. I draw inspiration from my diverse cultural background and the experiences of adapting to a new country.

Aside from painting, I'm also an avid collector of miniature items, such as tiny teapots, perfume, liquor, travel souvenir spoon and delicate crystal ornaments. I take great care in arranging and curating my miniature collections, showcasing them in glass cases and shelves around my home. I love sharing the stories behind each piece with my guests, who are often delighted by the unique and intricate items on display.

When I'm not painting or collecting, I love to travel and explore new places. I've immersed myself in the culture, history, and cuisine of each place I visit. I enjoy trying new foods and flavors, and often get inspired to cook at home when I'm not traveling. I also enjoy experimenting with Asian recipes and have learned to make my favorite dishes from my hometown, such as Char Siu (barbecued pork) and dim sums.

I love reconnecting with my roots by visiting Hong Kong and marveling at the city's towering skyscrapers and bustling markets.

My home reflects my creativity and personality, filled with the beauty, and wonder of my travels, artworks, and collections. I take great pride in displaying my paintings and miniature collections throughout my home, providing a colorful and lively backdrop to my daily life. I hope to continue pursuing my artistic talents, indulging in my hobbies, and exploring the world around me for many years to come.
